William T. Dillard

William Thomas Dillard ( born September 2, 1914 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas; † February 8, 2002 in Little Rock, Arkansas) was an American entrepreneur.

Life

Dillard studied at the University of Arkansas and at Columbia University. He founded in 1938 the U.S. retail companies Dillard's in Nashville, Arkansas. Over the years, more department store branches were established by him. Dillard was married to Alexa Latimer and had five children.
