William Wallace Campbell

William Wallace Campbell ( * April 11, 1862, † June 14, 1938 ) was an American astronomer.

From 1900 to 1930 he was director of the Lick Observatory.

In 1906 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1915, the Bruce Medal. 1970 Moon and 1973 Mars crater was named after him.
