William Zabka
William Michael " Billy" Zabka ( born October 20, 1965 in New York City ) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as an opponent of Ralph Macchio in Karate Kid, and as an actor in the television series The Equalizer.
Life
William Zabkas career began as an actor in commercials. Through his agent, he got an audition for the role of " Johnny Lawrence " in the movie Karate Kid. Although he could no Karate at this time, he got the role. With Pat Johnson then he trained to learn the basic techniques. For his performance he was nominated for the Young Artist Award losing to Anthony Michael Hall in Sixteen as an adult.
In the 1980s, he mostly played roles in film comedies, which corresponded to the stereotype of the young club, which he embodied in Karate Kid. Do it again, Dad, help, the Americans come and as a boy she's tip. From 1985 to 1989, he also played a supporting role in the television series The Equalizer.
In the 1990s he returned to the role of Ruben in Shoot Fighter and the sequel Shoot Fighter 2 back to the martial arts genre. In 2013 he made a guest appearance in episode 22 of season 8 of the series How I Met Your Mother, more appearances followed in sequence 4 ( " The Broken Code"), Episode 5 ( " The Poker Game" ), episode 10 ( " Mom and Dad " ), Episode 20 ( " Daisy " ), Episode 21 ( " Gary Blauman " ) and episode 22 ( " The End of the Aisle ") of the 9th season.
Others
Rumor has it he would now have a black belt in Karate. This he denied, however, in an interview and claimed to have a green belt. But for his roles in various martial arts films, he trained black belt techniques.
