The Williams FW18 is the 14th Formula 1 racing car of Williams F1. He was inducted into the Formula 1 season 1996, the engines were as supplied in the previous year of Renault. Adrian Newey and Patrick Head were responsible for the design. With the FW18 Damon Hill won his first and only world title. Williams was able to secure the constructors' championship is the eighth time.

Driver

Damon Hill, the runner-up last season played in 1996 on his fourth and final season for Williams, before he moved to Arrows for the 1997 season. Jacques Villeneuve, the 1995 Indianapolis 500 and won champion in the IndyCar World Series was, was obliged by Frank Williams as a replacement for David Coulthard, who moved to McLaren. Performance

The Williams FW18 was the most reliable Formula 1 racing car of the season. From 2028 possible laps one could stop in 1778 - more than any other car. After the season opener in Australia Damon Hill led the World Cup and gave this leadership throughout the season not starting. Jacques Villeneuve was one runner-up in his first year in the formula. The constructors' championship won superior Williams, with 105 points ahead of second-placed Ferrari.
