Williamsburg County is a county located in the state of South Carolina in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Kingstree.

Geography

The County is located in the east of South Carolina, is located in the southeast about 45 km from the Atlantic Ocean and has an area of ​​2427 square kilometers, of which 8 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Florence County, Marion County, Georgetown County, Berkeley County and Clarendon County.

History

Williamsburg County was formed in 1802. It was named after Prince Wilhelm August, Duke of Cumberland, third son of George II, King of England, and Queen Caroline, a major British military leader.
