Willie Collum

William " Willie" Collum ( born January 18, 1979 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football referee. He whistles since 2006 internationally for FIFA and is in the highest UEFA category " Elite Group" divided.

Life and career

William Collum began his refereeing in December 1993, since June 2000 he has been serving the Scottish Football Association. His Erstligadebüt he gave on April 15, 2006 at 0-0 between Falkirk and Dunfermline Athletic. In the same year he was promoted to a FIFA referee and initiated in August in the UEFA Cup qualification in his first international match against NK Domžale Hapoel Tel Aviv. Collum was used frequently at junior level for several tournaments and in the course at the U- 19 Football Championship 2008 finals. He also led two matches at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

On 18 March 2012, he was Impartial in the final against Celtic Glasgow FC Kilmarnock of the Scottish League Cup 2011/12, which ended 0-1. Shortly before the end he refused to Glasgow for a penalty, and he got death threats over the Internet and threatening phone calls. This constituted for Collum, however, no reason is to end his career.

Collum was a goal judge part of the Scottish referee team of horses at the 2012 European Football Championship, which was used under Craig Thomson for two preliminary round games.

In civilian life Collum is a teacher of religious studies in North Lanarkshire. He teaches at St. Aidan High School in Wishaw and the Catholic Cardinal Newman High School in Bellshill. At the latter until 2011 was also Head of the Department of Religion, gave this work, however, in favor of his work as a referee on.
