Willie Mabon

Willie Mabon ( born October 24, 1925 in Hollywood, Tennessee, † April 19, 1985 in Paris, France) was an American R & B singer, songwriter and pianist.

Growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, Mabon 1942, as already accomplished blues to Chicago. He founded the band "The Blues Rockers " and made from 1949 recorded for various record labels. After his huge hit I Do not Know followed in 1953 and 1954 I'm Mad Poison Ivy. After the success subsided.

1972 Mabel moved to Paris. He toured quite successful in Europe and continued to make recordings until his death in 1985.

The greatest success for Willie Mabon was the piece I Do not Know, in 1952 for eight weeks occupied the top position of the R & B charts and was later re-recorded by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
