Willie Weeks

Willie Weeks ( born 1947 in Salemburg, North Carolina) is an American bass guitarist.

Life

Weeks 1970 was a founding member of the funk band Rufus. In 1973, he split from the band and started his career as a studio and guest musicians. He has played, among others, for Stevie Wonder album Innervisions the bass, followed by recordings with The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Aretha Franklin and Don McLean. Between 1974 and 1982 he played bass on all studio albums by George Harrison. Even with David Bowie and Randy Newman, he worked on a number of their albums. In 1998 he had a small appearance in the film Blues Brothers 2000 as the bassist of the Louisiana Gator Boys. Between 2006 and 2007 he was with Eric Clapton on a world tour.
