Geography
Geographical Location
The community Willmering is about three kilometers north of the county town of Cham. The Katz stream that flows through the community, formed the early settlement axis.
Community structure
The municipality Willmering has seven officially named districts:
- Burneth
- Fiddle
- Lohweiher
- Prienzing
- Stegmühle
- Willmering
- Zifling
There is only the district Willmering.
History
Will Merings first mention was in 1135, when Margrave Diepoldsberg " Wiltmaring " gave to the monastery Reichenbach am Regen. The place belonged to Rentamt Straubing and Cham district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. see also Burgruine mountain
Spin-off
On 1 May 1978, the municipality Willmering joined parts of the territory with about 50 residents from the district town of Cham.
Population Development
Policy
First Mayor Michael Dankerl ( CSU / CDU community). He is since 1969 in office and thus the longest serving Mayor in Bavaria.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 267 in the area of trade and transport 39 persons work at the workplace. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 677 in the manufacturing sector, there were none, in the construction operation. In addition, in 1999, there were 27 farms with an agricultural area of 516 hectares (ha), of which 289 ha of arable land.
