Willoughby Goddard

Willoughby Goddard ( born July 4, 1926 in Bicester, Oxfordshire, † April 11, 2008 ) was a British actor.

Life

Making his first appearance as an actor Goddard at the Oxford Playhouse Theatre 1943 Goddard was his life severely overweight.; Although this restricted him in the role of a choice, but he was both in television, cinema as well as in the theater for over 40 years successfully working.

Mainly embodied Goddard in his roles in authority; he often played judges, professors, mayor or manager. At the theater he frequently played pieces by Dickens ( Oliver Twist ) and Shakespeare (including Othello, Twelfth Night ). In 1963 he played on Broadway in the play Oliver!.

On television, he appeared on The Last Days of Pompeii, among others in the Disney film version of Return to Treasure Iceland and the mini-series. He was a much booked guest performer in the British television series of secret mission for John Drake on Simon Templar, The Avengers and melon to Moonbase Alpha 1 In addition, he played 1958/1959 in 39 episodes of the bailiff Gessler in the television series The Adventures of William Tell.

His feature film roles included the Steven Spielberg production The Young Sherlock Holmes.
