Wilson Abraham Moncayo Jalil

Wilson Abraham Moncayo Jalil ( born September 20, 1944 in Ambato, Ecuador, † March 12, 2012 in Quito ) was bishop of Santo Domingo de los Colorados.

Life

Wilson Moncayo studied theology and philosophy at the seminary of San José in Quito. At the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, he earned a licentiate in dogmatic theology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador a master's degree in theology. He received on August 23, 1970, ordained priest for the Diocese of Latacunga.

He was appointed by Pope John Paul II for the second Bishop of the Diocese of Santo Domingo de los Colorados, 2002. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Porto Viejo, José Mario Ruiz Navas; Co-consecrators were Vicente Rodrigo Durán Cisneros, Archbishop of Cuenca, and Raúl López Holguer Mayorga, Bishop of Latacunga. He succeeds the German -born Emil Stehle.
