Wilson W. Wyatt

Wilson Watkins Wyatt ( born November 21, 1905 in Louisville, Kentucky, † June 11, 1996 ) was an American politician. Between 1959 and 1963 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Kentucky.

Career

After studying law at the University of Louisville and his 1927 was admitted as a lawyer Wilson Wyatt began to work in this profession. He was also legal adviser to several media companies. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1941 and 1945 he was mayor of his hometown of Louisville. In the years 1944, 1948, 1952 and 1960, he participated as a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions relevant. In 1948 he spent a year working for the federal authority for mobilization (Office of War Mobilization ).

In 1959, Wyatt was elected to the side of Bert T. Combs for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky. This post he held 1959-1963. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. In 1962, he ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. A year later he became a member of the State Board of his party. Wilson Wyatt was also a member of several organizations and associations. He died on 11 June 1996 in Louisville, where he was also buried.
