Wilstedt is a municipality in the Tarmstedt and belongs to the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ) in Lower Saxony.

History

Wilstedt is the first time " The miracle cures at the grave Willehads " mentioned in Scripture, that the archbishop of Bremen, Ansgar has written in the year 860.

Another reliable documentary mention takes place in 1124, when Pope Calixtus II in the courtyard of the monastery Willenstede Rastede awards.

Spin-offs

On 1 July 1976, a field with time almost 50 inhabitants ( Wilstedter Moor ) was ceded to the neighboring community of Grasberg.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms shows the front of a silver background a black Verden nail cross that commemorates the affiliation to the bishopric of Verden. Back a golden figure of the Archbishop of Bremen Ansgar is displayed on a blue background, the one holding crosier in his right hand and in his left a church. This recalls the first mention of the place by Ansgar.

Sports

For sporting facilities of the Club MTV Wilstedt provide with its numerous divisions, as well as the tennis club, which was founded in 1971 and the shooting club. In addition, a public swimming pool and a sports hall and a football field with artificial turf at the school exists.

Wilstedt was on the railway line Wilstedt - Tostedt. This is decommissioned.
