Winchester is a city in Clark County in the U.S. state of Kentucky. In Winchester is the county seat of Clark County. For the 2000 census, the city recorded 16,724 inhabitants. Winchester is located in the heart of the Bluegrass Region, and lies about 25 kilometers east of Lexington.
The place is known for the beverage company " Ale -8 -One ," the nationally distributed the famous Kentucky soft drink.
Education
George Rogers Clark High School is the only public high school. Around 1600 students go to this school. Furthermore, there is in Winchester, two Middle Schools and Elementary Schools four.
