Wind (Band)

Wind is a German pop band, the three took part in the Euro Vision Song Contest and it won twice the second place.

Career

Founding members of wind were Alexander " Ala " Heiler (* 1953 in Stuttgart), Christiane von Kutzschenbach (* 1964), Willie James (* 1953), Sami Kalifa ( born August 24, 1960 in Wiesbaden, Germany ), and Petra Scheeser ( born May 20, 1966 in Munich). Christiane "Miss Chris ", Ala, Willie and Sami already previously worked as an a cappella group "Voices in Touch" together. About the company Jupiter Records in Munich came as the lead singer Rainer Höglmeier ( born June 8, 1962 in Regensburg ) to the group.

The group 's composition by Hanne Haller and texted song for all in the preliminary to the Euro Vision Song Contest 1985 in front and took the victory. At the International event in Gothenburg then the group was able to take second place with this song for Germany.

After the great success at the Grand Prix 1985, the group took wind in 1987 in this competition, but in a different occupation. Instead of Rainer Höglmeier and Willie Jakob, who had left the group, came Andreas Lebbing ( born June 9, 1960 in Bocholt), which, Andreas Haas was previously active under the artist name Andy Andres later, as the new lead singer to do so. After the preliminary yet Rob Pilatus joined the group. The contribution Let the sun into your heart by Ralph Siegel / Bernd Meinunger once again took second place. The title is still one of the biggest hits of the group.

In 1990, the group left the founding members Ala Heiler and Christiane von Kutzschenbach wind, so that initially remained only a trio, Andreas Lebbing, Sami Kalifa and Petra Scheeser. Andreas Lebbing first left the group in 1991, but then joined Oliver Hahn, Stefan Marò (Stefan ore ) and Albert Oberloher ( born July 21, 1962 in Haag in Oberbayern, later husband of Michelle ) to do so. In this formation the band in 1992 won the qualifying round for the Euro Vision Song Contest and participated in Malmö for the third time in this competition. In the late 1990s, Petra Scheeser left and the related only since 1992 members Oliver Hahn and Stefan Marò the group. Damschen Angélique ( Angélique hollow ) was for two years ( 1996-1998) in the group Wind and enrich what the vocal harmonies were concerned, but then got out. Shortly after, Sami Kalifa left the band. Today, in addition Lebbing Andreas ( lead singer ), the Manager Albert Oberloher and the singers Iris Criens, ( born June 20, 1967 in Mönchengladbach ) and Nastasya Marinkovic ( born October 4, 1976 in Venray / Netherlands) belong to the group Wind.

In 1998, wind at Deutsche Trials for Euro Vision Song Contest 1998 in part ( in the following line: Andreas Lebbing, Albert Oberloher, Angelique Damschen & Iris Remmertz ). They accompanied the Rapsängerin Diana with the song Let the heart touching. In the same year took the wind with sun, moon and shining stars at the Grand Prix of the Schlager part and reached number 5 in 1999 they tried again at Deutsche Trials for Euro Vision Song Contest in Bremen with Lost in love, but only reached number 10

The end of 2005 Natasja Marinkovic has left the group due to private problems. It has been replaced by management by the stage- experienced professional singer Angela Kötzsch. Mid-2006 Natasia Marinkovic returned to his own request, in the group back. In mutual agreement with management Angela Kötzsch left the lineup. On September 7, 2008 Andreas Lebbing has announced that the group would separate from Albert Oberloher and will probably occur under a new name.

As of January 1, 2009 were Andreas Lebbing, Iris Criens (born Remmertz ) & Natasja Marinkovic under the name WIND. Albert Oberloher again started in 2009 his new group LIGHT, with whom he also competed in the 2009 preliminary round of the Grand Prix of folk music. The end of 2010 Natasja Marinkovic left the group; next Andreas Lebbing and Iris Criens stood Carolin Froelian on stage. In March 2013, the composition of the group changed again: In addition to front man Andreas Lebbing and the singer and lyricist Carolin Froelian the trio is now on with Lena - Marie Engel, which is above and continue on the road as a soloist, completed.

Honors

Wind won three times the ZDF hit parade, once the annual hit parade and was awarded the Golden Tuning Fork.
