Wind River Range

The Wind River Range [ wɪnd ɹɪvə ˞ ɹeɪndʒ ] (Eng. "Wind River Mountain Range " ) is a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains. The mountain chain runs west of the U.S. state of Wyoming from the northwest to the southeast and forms over a length of about 190 km on a part of the Continental Divide of North America and the south-eastern border of Yellowstone National Park. Highest elevations are of Gannett Peak ( 4207 m with the highest point in Wyoming), Fremont Peak ( 4185 m) and Wind River Peak ( 4021 m).
The comb region of the mountain range is almost entirely designated as wilderness reserve. West of the Continental Divide is the Bridger Wilderness, in the north- east, the Fitzpatrick Wilderness and in the southeast the Popo Agie Wilderness. On the east side of the Wind River Indian Reservation, a reservation of the Eastern Shoshone and Arapaho Indians enough to the summit ridge.
