Geography

Windhaag bei Freistadt is located on 723 m altitude in the Upper Austria. The expansion is 9 km from north to south, from west to east 9.5 km. The total area is 43 km ². 18 % of the area is forested, 23.8 % of the area used for agriculture. Katastralgemeinden are Windhaag in Freistadt, Riemetschlag and Spörbichl.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, owned the area since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Coat of arms
