Windham Hill Records

Windham Hill Records is a subsidiary of Bertelsmann Music Group ( BMG) and specialized as record companies on the release of music from the area New Age and Folk Music. In 1976 the label by guitarist and carpenter William Ackerman and his then-wife Anne Robinson was founded. Windham Hill Records was especially successful in the 1980s, today sells but no more records.

The label was bought in several sales between 1992 and 1996 by BMG and is now a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. The offer of Windham Hill is now marketed by Legacy Recordings. Private Music, also a subsidiary of BMG, has published a number of new publications of Windham Hill Records.
