Windsor (automobile)

The Windsor Corporation was an automobile manufacturer that produced from 1929 to 1930 in St. Louis ( Missouri) automobiles in the Windsor brand.

History

The Windsor Corporation was a subsidiary of the Moon Motor Car Company and had the production in the same halls as the parent company and also the same management. As the sales figures of Moon fell dramatically and the other subsidiary, Diana Motors Company was being disbanded, it was hoped that they could be successful at least with the brand Windsor. But it was not to be. Moon presented in April 1929 to sell cars under its own brand name; the company Windsor died only a year later.

The vehicles were sold as " White Prince ". They had a front and rear Lowered chassis that allowed the low design, central chassis lubrication and hydraulic brakes. They were clearly located on the Moon. Originally they wore the emblem of the Prince of Wales on the radiator grille and hubcaps. In advertising it was used. But when the British royal family objected, they changed the logo.

Models

All vehicles were equipped with Continental engines and possessed Warner gear; the models 6-79 and 8-92 with four gears, all the other three.

The 7- seater sedan was in the range 6-72 June 1929 chassis with a longer wheelbase 3480 mm and in the range 8-92 with 3556 mm.
