Windsor Star

Windsor Star is a daily English-language newspaper published in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The newspaper is published in broadsheet format and is produced by Postmedia Network. The editorial office is located at 300 Ouellette Avenue, the print shop is located in the southern area of the city. The newspaper is published daily from Monday to Saturday.

History

The first newspaper and the predecessor of today's Windsor Star Windsor was the weekly record in 1888. 1918 the newspaper in Border Cities Star was renamed when it was purchased by WF Herman. In the following years several regional newspapers were acquired and merged by the year 1959 under the name Windsor Star. W. F. Hermann died in 1938, leaving his wife, Adie Knox Herman, had taken over the business. In 1971 the newspaper was sold to Southam Press which in turn was taken over in 2000 by CanWest. After the buying of parts of the insolvent CanWest Postmedia Network took over the newspaper.
