Winfried Bausback

Winfried Bausback ( born October 22, 1965 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German politician ( CSU) and high school teachers. In October 2013 he was appointed as Minister of State for Justice in the Cabinet Seehofer II.

Education and work

Winfried Bausback studied after graduating from high school in 1985 at the Kronberg High School in Aschaffenburg law at the University of Würzburg. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Wurzburg, before working as a university lecturer in 2002. In 2007 he received a professorship at the University of Wuppertal. Bausback where he teaches public law, especially European and International Business Law.

Winfried Bausback joined in 1984 the Junge Union and is a member of the CSU since 1985.

He has held since 2009, the office of the county chairmen in the district association Aschaffenburg City. He is also Deputy Chairman of the District AK CSU College in Lower Franconia and a member of the CSU district board.

In the mayoral elections in Aschaffenburg 2012 Bausback stood as the only opposition candidate against incumbent SPD Klaus Herzog. However, he was defeated, with almost 18 % of the votes and achieved the worst result of a CSU candidates in Aschaffenburg since the founding of the party. Klaus Herzog was re-elected with 82% for a further eight years.

Member of Parliament

Since 2008 Bausback has worked as a deputy for the voting district of Aschaffenburg - West in the Bavarian Parliament. Here he worked in the Committee on Constitution, Law, Parliament questions and Consumer Protection and the Committee on the Public Service.
