Wings 3D

Wings 3D or Wings is free software for easy creation of 3D models. Template was Nendo and Mirai from Izware, which also use the Winged Edge data structure. Wings 3D is written in Erlang and available for multiple platforms including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X PowerPC / Intel.

The program offers newbies and advanced in the field of 3D modeling an easy-to -learn user interface. To operate a 3- button mouse is recommended, as most menus are controlled by the mouse. Wings 3D is well suited for texturing and creating polygon networks of low to medium density, it presents the scene here in a kind of preview that seeks a compromise between wireframe and real rendering. In order to obtain photorealistic images, an external renderer must be used. These scenes or parts thereof may be exported into standardized formats. In programs like POV -Ray, Blender or Cinema 4D such scenes can be loaded or integrated and rendered. Wings 3D offers to control the " camera " in different modes used in other 3D graphics software.
