Angle is a municipality in the district of Bülach in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

Geography

The municipality is located in the angle around Zurich. It comprises the three villages angle, Ruti and Zeeb. It is geographically located at Dättenberg between cities and Kloten Bülach. The population is now about 3500 inhabitants, of which slightly less than half in Ruti live. The settlement area of angle and Seeb is grown together. Angle and Ruti are separated by a knoll on Dettenberg and Rütner divide Ruti itself again in Upper and Niederrüti. On Winkler municipality is also a part of a runway at the airport in Zurich.

Population

The community image is dominated by the three village centers from old farmhouses and newer single family homes, which were built since the opening of the airport. In Ruti there is a terrace settlement, which was built about 1970 by Swissair for the searching in the area living room personnel. The population growth of the community is also closely connected with the history of the development of the airport Zurich. So the population of angle was only a few hundred souls from the airport opening.

In the late 1990s the church underwent an additional population boost when built within a year against 500 flats, which also sustained change in the " single-family home picture" of the community.

The end of 2012 consisted of 39.7 % of the inhabitants of the Reformed Protestant denomination, 24.5% Roman Catholic, 35.8 % were members of another denomination or religious affiliation.

Economy

In the municipality is located out of the market garden Eymann and some small trade businesses no significant industry. The community has one of the lowest tax rates in the canton of Zurich.

History

The village was mentioned in documents for the first time in 1044, although a small Roman settlement was found on Seebner area in the 1st and 2nd centuries, from the still remnants can be seen today. The names of the villages all have a geographical origin and come from the Alemannic. They call in the case of angle the hill incision in which the municipality is located in Ruti deforestation and Seeb the lake, on which lay the village. This lake is no longer, as it increasingly silted and for the drainage of the fen on which finally the Zurich airport was built, disappeared.

In addition to the Roman estate you will find here and there in Rütner (or Rütemer ) Forest Alemannic burial mounds, some of which were uncovered a few years ago.

In 1917 the village was Eschenmosen that had belonged to the municipality so far angle, assigned to the community Bülach.

Policy

Mayor 's Arnold Meyer (SVP 2009). As local parties, the SVP, FDP and the SD are available. As one of the few municipalities in the canton of Zurich there are no representatives of the SP or a free list.
