Winn Parish, Louisiana
The Winn Parish (French: Paroisse de Winn ) is a parish located in the state of Louisiana in the United States. In the census in 2010, the Parish had 15,313 inhabitants and a population density of 6.2 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( Parish Seat) is Winnfield.

The Parish is located in the north-central Louisiana, is approximately equidistant from Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi and has an area of 2478 square kilometers, of which 17 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered by the following Parishes:

Winn Parish was formed in 1852 from parts of Catahoula Parish, Natchitoches Parish of Rapides Parish and the.

According to the census in 2000 lived in Winn Parish 16,894 people in 5,930 households and 4,234 families. The population density was 7 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 66.27 percent White, 32.03 percent Black or African American, 0.50 percent Native American, 0.16 percent Asian, 0.05 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 0.13 percent from other races groups; 0.86 percent were descended from two or more races. 0.87 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race, were members of the various groups mentioned.
Of the 5,930 households out of which 32.6 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 51.8 percent were married couples living together, 15.3 percent were single mothers, 28.6 percent were non-families, 26.2 percent of all households and 12.9 percent lived in people aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.07.
In relation to the parish the population was spread out 24.8 percent of residents under the age of 18, 9.6 percent between 18 and 24 years, 28.9 percent between 25 and 44 years, 22.7 percent between 45 and 64 years and 14.0 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 110.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 113.2 males.
The median income for a household was $ 25,462, and the median income for a family was $ 31,513. Males have a median income of $ 29,094, women $ 17,939. The per capita income was $ 11,794. 17.0 percent of families 21.5 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. Of these, 28.4 percent were children or adolescents under age 18 and 24.2 percent of those 65 years.
