Winnifred Sprague Mason Huck

Winnifred Sprague Mason Huck ( born September 14, 1882 in Chicago, Illinois; † August 24, 1936 ibid ) was an American politician. In the years 1922 and 1923, she represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Winnifred Sprague Mason, as her maiden name, was the daughter of William E. Mason (1850-1921), who represented the state of Illinois in both chambers of Congress. She attended the public schools of their home and in Washington DC She then worked as her father's secretary. After his death, she was elected as a candidate of the Republican Party in the 27th Election District of Illinois as his successor in Congress. Between November 7, 1922 to March 3, 1923 she finished there the current legislative period. For the election to the next session, she was not put forward by the Republicans.

In 1923, it sought also unsuccessful in their party's nomination for another by-election to Congress. She died on 24 August 1936 in Chicago.
