Winston Groom

Winston Groom ( born March 23, 1943 in Washington, DC ) is an American author. His published 1986 novel Forrest Gump was filmed in 1994 with the same title, directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Life

Winston Groom in 1943 in Washington, D.C. born, but grew up in Mobile, Alabama, and studied at the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the fraternity Delta Tau Delta. He went off in 1965. In the same year he joined the United States Army, where he served until 1969. Among other things, he also fought in the Vietnam War.
