Winterborn

Winterborn is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Alsenz - Obermoschel, which has its headquarters in the town of Alsenz.

Geography

Winterborn is located in the north- Palatinate mountains north of the Palatinate Forest. Northeast is low Hausen an der Appel, southeast and southwest Münsterappel is lime kiln. To Winterborn includes the living space Waldhof.

History

Winterborn has existed since the 10th century. In a document from the 13th century it was called Winterbur.

The local council in Winterborn is composed of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Blazon: Split of blue and red; right a golden lion, golden crowned, bezungt red and red edges, left a golden crosier topped with a silver shield, is a red growing unicorn.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the village leads the L 403 Take the A 63 in the south-east and the A61 in north-east is connected to the long-distance transport.
