Geography
Wintershausen is located in Lower Franconia, in the region of Franconia, in the district of Würzburg. Directly opposite Wintershausen, on the east bank of the Main River, lies the village summer camp.

History
The market Wintershausen, formerly an office of the limpurgischen rule Speckfeld (or their Erbtöchter of Rechtern ), was from 1500 in the Frankish Empire circle. It fell in the mediatization of Bavaria and was founded in 1810 in the Grand Duchy of Würzburg boundary settlements left, with which it fell back in 1814 to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
Until the 1972 local government reorganization Wintershausen belonged to the district Ochsenfurt, since the district of Würzburg.

Economy, agriculture, forestry and viticulture
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 74 in the area of trade and transport any social insurance contributions at the workplace.
