History

1855 originated in Winterthur, a first provisional timber frames as a station house. The design for this is provided by A. Beck, which also had the construction management. This building was in 1860 sold to the city of Zurich, which wanted to build it near the grain house again. Five years after the opening of the temporary restoration, the first real station was built under the direction of architect Jakob Friedrich Wanner, who was also responsible for the design, together with A. The builder Meier came from Winterthur, the train hall was made ​​by the company Benkiser in Pforzheim. 1875 was the first expansion than the Tösstal railway and National Railway in Winterthur took up the operation.
