Wireless bridge

Wireless Bridging was standardized with the IEEE 802.11c specification. IEEE 802.11c from 1998 has now been replaced by IEEE 802.1D from 2004. This standard only briefly on the basics of IEEE 802.11.

Wireless Bridging is used for wireless connection of two network topologies over wireless. The bridging is a dedicated radio link between two access points. The identification of the remote station based on the MAC address. Login attempts are denied ordinary wireless terminals (as opposed to repeating mode). This technique is now implemented mostly on the Wireless Distribution System (WDS).

The bridging mode should not be confused with the client mode.
