The Business Week (own spelling Business Week; WiWo ) is a German business magazine and was founded in 1926 under the name German economist.

It is published weekly and is published by the publishing group Handelsblatt. On 6 March 2006, the publication date of Thursday was moved to Monday. Subscribers receive the magazine on Saturday. The Business Week has its editorial office in Dusseldorf.

The Business Week is official journal of the stock exchange in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf.

Rankings

Annually publishes the business week, a university ranking. This is based on a survey of around 500 staffing and recruiting managers by the employer branding specialists Universum Communications in collaboration with the recruiting company access KellyOCG. The HR managers are asked which form universities and colleges in their eyes, the best students in the fields of study economics, industrial engineering, business computer science, engineering, computer science, natural sciences and law.

Published in 2009, the Business Week for the sixth time a city ranking. This was based on an examination of the Initiative New Social Market Economy, in which the 50 most populous cities in Germany were evaluated after approximately 100 economic and structural indicators such as productivity, gross income or investment.

WiWo Green

Since the beginning of 2013, the economy operates week with Green WiWo a portal around the green economy. The topics are in addition to renewable energy and sustainable business strategies and innovations in the areas of mobility, megacities and investment. The readership of the portal grow at double-digit percentage range and reached just a few months, according to the editorial 200,000 page views per month. Start-up Competition

Since 2007, Business Week writes in collaboration with partners such as the advertising agency Jung von Matt and the law firm White & Case annually endowed with 300,000 euros founder of competition to encourage young entrepreneurs. Previous winners were:

Best Office Award

The BEST OFFICE Award is a business award, which is awarded since 2004 by Business Week and Koelnmesse in two annual basis at the International Trade Fair for Office and ORGATEC. Together with the scientific partner, the Institute of Industrial Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt ( IAD), the competition awarded international companies for pioneering office concepts. The BEST OFFICE Award will be awarded in two categories since 2008. In each case, an office building at home and abroad will be awarded. The competition is aimed regardless of their size and their industry to all companies. What matters is the ideas with which they can compete with the best in the whole world.

Terms and Conditions

Participation is open to all companies at home and abroad, have adopted the modern office concepts as well as external specialists for office planning and design, that have driven the project significantly. To participate in the competition, the company must fill out a questionnaire and send it, which was prepared by the Institute of Industrial Science of the Technical University of Darmstadt ( IAD), fill out, and also photos of the office project must be included.

The award ceremony will take place at the exhibition center in Cologne under the ORGATEC. The two winners will also be featured in the Business Week.

The Business Week has no direct competitors in Germany. The Magazine Impulse and Capital of Gruner Jahr appear only once a month. The also published by Gruner Jahr Exchange Online and Focus Money from the Burda publishing house are classic investment magazines.
