Wisconsin Highway 11
State Highway 11 (Wisconsin ) (also State Trunk Highway 11, Highway 11, STH 11 or WIS 11) is a running from West to East State Route through the South of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The western terminus is located a few kilometers south of the small town of Kiel, opposite the city of Dubuque, Iowa. There, the highway of the Dubuque - Wisconsin 11 starts a few hundred meters east of Bridge over the Mississippi River, together with the WIS 35 to the confluence with the here running on a section of track shared U.S. Highways 61 and 151 The eastern endpoint is located on the 400 m west of Lake Michigan lying confluence with the WIS 32 on the eastern edge belonging to the metropolitan city of Milwaukee, Racine.
Course
About 500 m after the western terminus of WIS 35 branches for about one kilometer away from the common border with Illinois Route to the south. The WIS 11 passes first through a relatively sparsely populated area in the Grant County. Before the border to Lafayette County WIS 80 branches off to the north.
After about 20 km, WIS 23 branches off to the north and in a few miles further east of Gratiot WIS 78 to the south.
After the bridge over the Pecatonica River at Brownstown in Green County, the road reaches its administrative headquarters Monroe, where the four-lane Highway forms the northern ring road. There flows from the north of WIS 81 from the north and continues with the WIS 11 on the same route. Furthermore, here crosses WIS 69 and WIS 59 reaches its southern terminus. After the bridge over the Sugar River WIS 81 leaves the common route. Then the highway reaches the city Brodhead with the southern terminus of WIS 104, which also marks the boundary to the Rock County.
In Orfordville the crosses WIS 213 and reached after the bridge over the Rock River, the city of Janesville. First, the highway passes through the south -lying Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport and intersects U.S. Highway 51 before the jointly running in a north-south Interstate Highways 39 and 90 reached. The Highway 11 now runs together with the Interstate north and exits around 8 km away again in an easterly direction. The highway now runs first in a southeasterly and then easterly direction along with the U.S. Highway 14
After 25 km of Highway 11 leaves in Walworth County the section of track shared and reached the city of Delavan. The road runs from now on in a northeasterly direction parallel with the 2 to 3 km from the Interstate 43 to Elkhorn. In the city of crosses WIS 67 After crossing the four-lane U.S. Highway 12 here, the course turns back in an easterly direction and crosses little later the I 43 After the intersection with WIS 120, the road reaches after crossing the WIS 36, the limit of the Racine County.
The WIS 11 now forms the southern ring road of the city of Burlington and crosses a bridge over the Fox River. After the intersections with the WIS 83, the highway leaves the room Burlington and continues eastwards. After the intersection with WIS 75 and later U.S. Highway 45 in Union Grove crosses just before the city Sturtevant Interstate 94, which runs here with U.S. Highway 41 on a common path. After the intersection with WIS 31 WIS 11 occurs in the urban area of a Racine. The road now leads through the entire southern city. On the southeastern outskirts of the Highway to the confluence with the WIS 32 reaches its eastern terminus.
