With Honors ( With Honors ) is an American comedy film directed by Alek Keshishian from the year 1994.

Action

Montgomery Kessler studied at Harvard University. He loses the only copy of his thesis, which he owns. The work will be found by the homeless Simon Wilder, who lives in the basement of Widener Library.

Wilder asks Kessler some favor for the return of the manuscript. Kessler and his roommate in the residential community are outraged at first, later, Kessler and Wilder become friends. Wilder returns to work. Kessler takes him seriously ill to himself than Wilder. A doctor says Wilder have inhaled asbestos-contaminated air in the past, was terminally ill and have only had a short time to live.

Wilder writes his own obituary, from the Kessler learns that Wilder in the past his wife and son left. As Wilders disease is acute, he asked Kessler to drive him to his son. Kessler agrees, although he therefore must submit the thesis late, so he can not get any more awards. They are accompanied by the other students.

Wilder's son, now grown up, his father does not want to see first. Kessler persuaded him trouble with it. As Wilder's granddaughter appears and asks the strange man says her father, there was no one.

Wilder dies in the presence of Kessler and his roommates. Only the students appear at the funeral, while Kessler reads the obituary. Wilder named in the obituary by name all four students and described it as his survivors.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that the film is indeed " viewable " ( " watchable " ) was, but he was worse than he could be. His second half was much better than the first. Joe Pesci was miscast in his role. Berardinelli praised the representations of Patrick Dempsey and Moira Kelly; he regretted that they had relatively little to see.

The lexicon of the International film said: "Despite some length the story is consistently compassionate and stylish, told with rich dialogues, convincing actors and selected beautiful pictures. "

The song I'll Remember ( sung by Madonna) was nominated in 1995 for a Golden Globe Award, a Grammy Award and an MTV Movie Award.
