Witold Leszczyński

Witold Leszczynski ( born August 16, 1933, Łódź, † September 1, 2007 in Łódź) was a Polish film director, photographer and screenwriter.

Life and career

Witold Leszczynski, born in 1933 in Lodz, studied after high school in 1951 initially to 1956 movie and sound engineering at the Polytechnic University in Warsaw and worked in the film industry as a professional. Then he studied directing at the Film School in Łódź until 1963. Emerged at this time first short films. His first feature film he directed in 1968 with the film drama The Life of Matthew.

Awards

Żywot Mateusza was the Polish contribution at the International Film Festival in Cannes in 1968 and won several awards at other film festivals.

Konopielka and Siekierezada also received prices in Poland, Switzerland and Germany, including the top prize at the Polish Film Festival.
