Witternheim
Witternheim is a commune with 518 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region.

History
The settlement existed as early as the Bronze Age. Former place names were " Wilderceldenheim " in the 12th century and later " Witternheim ". The noble family of Rathsamhausen Ehnwihr, a present-day district of Sessenheim, and a family MUEG from Boofzheim were resident in Witternheim.
