Wittgert
Wittgert is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Ransbach -Baumbach.

Geography
The community lies in the Westerwald between Koblenz and Siegen at the borders of the can baker country. At the site over the Saynbach flows belongs to the catchment area of the Rhine. Through the town flows the self Röttgesbach which in the Saynbach opens.
History
First mention found the village in 1298 as Widechinrode.

The local council in Wittgert consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: " From black and green split by silver shaft pile. Law a silver hammer and a silver slash hoe schräggekreutzt, left a silver jar. "
