Wittinsburg

Wittinsburg ( Baselbieter German: Wytschbrg ) is a municipality in the district Sissach the canton of Basel -Country in Switzerland.

Geography

Wittinsburg is a farming village and is situated on a hill between the Homburger and the Diegtertal.

The neighboring communities are (from north clockwise) Diepflingen, Gelterkinden, Rümlingen, Buckten, Känerkinden, Diegten and Tenniken.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of Wittinsburg 1944 officially confirmed by the council. It is divided by a vertical line into two halves. The left half is black a golden ear of corn, on the right half, which is golden, one black ear of corn is shown. The coat of arms symbolizes the prevailing on the Tabular Jura plateau agriculture.
