Wiwa Korowi

Sir Wiwa Korowi, GCMG (* July 7, 1948 in Komali, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea ) is a Papua of New Guinea - politician.

Biography

Korowi began his political career as a member of the National Alliance Party with his election as deputies of the meeting house ( House of Assembly ).

On November 11, 1991, he was by Parliament to succeed the retiring Sir Serei Eri elected as the new Governor-General and took over the office of the incumbent Governor-General and Speaker of the House Dennis Young on 18 November 1991. After taking office, he was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II to Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George appointed. After six years of regular term of office he gave on 20 November 1997 at Silas Atopare.
