Wizard (software)

The term refers to a wizard interface by which a user is guided through a series of dialogs for ergonomic data entry (eg, software installation). There's been a help as when filling out forms. Often an assistant is also referred to as a wizard. Wizard is the English term for a magician or sorcerer, who with magic hand the often overburdened guides users through complex configuration quasi mazes.
