WizKids

WizKids is a Seattle-based U.S. company, which first made a name for himself with the production and sale of collectible miniatures. WizKids was founded in 2000 by FASA - veteran Jordan Weisman.

WizKids is known on the one hand for its patented Clix system, which was used in the systems Mage Knight, HeroClix and MechWarrior. This system allows variable Battle stats and skills directly to the figures.

In 2004 we launched a new product line WizKids, with the first construction -based strategy game Pirates of the Spanish Main.

Other products by WizKids, for example, which was released in May 2006 Trading Card Game Battlestar Galactica, which is based on the eponymous television series.

WizKids has also still holds the rights of the role playing Shadowrun and MechWarrior, licensees until 2007 was, however, Fantasy Productions, which published the games. After Fantasy Productions withdrew from the role-playing and tabletop area, the licenses were 2007 Catalyst Game Labs. The rights for the role-playing game Earthdawn now have the company Living Room Games ( Second Edition) and RedBrick Limited - hold ( Classic Edition alternative 2nd Edition ).

The company presented its activities in 2008 all the way in the brand, however, was taken over by NECA in 2009.
