Wladimiro Panizza

Wladimiro Panizza ( born June 5, 1945 in Fagnano Olona, † 21 June 2002 Cassano Magnago ) was an Italian cyclist.

Wladimiro was 19 years professional in cycling ( season early 1967 until end of season 1985); one of the most famous in Italy. He never stayed for more than two years with a cycling team; but they were all Italian. The Giro d' Italia drove Panizza 18 times; none went more often.

In his 19 years as a professional Wladimiro Panizza has mitgefahren all grand tours and classics. The Vuelta a España he went only once at the beginning of his career; he has canceled this trip. In the cross-country race Wladimiro convinced than three times national champion. Wladimiro Panizza died at age 57 of a heart attack.
