Wodgina Mine

P2

The Wodgina mine is an iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometers south of Port Hedland.

The mine is operated by Global Advanced Metals, the existing buildings and homes are there shared in accordance with a contract with Atlas Iron.

Mining operation

Atlas acquired the mining rights of the mine in February 2008 by the Talison Minerals Pty Ltd, today's Global Advanced Metals.

The project was led by Atlas from the first drilling to production in the shortest possible time, in no more than one and a half years for production. This was possible because an unused production structure of tantalum mine was present who is owned by Global Advanced Metals. The tantalum mine was taken in January 2010, returned to service, it was Global Advanced Metals known.

Atlas began in July 2010 with the iron ore production in the Wodgina mine, and it is planned to produce 6.5 million tons of iron ore in 2010 in 2012 to 20 million tonnes of iron ore to increase. The plan is 10 million tons from the Turner River Hub to win the mixed and further ore from the northern mines is processed, which are at Wodgina, Abydos and Mt Webber.

Atlas hopes that there will be a ruling Billiton with BHP and they can use the existing rail infrastructure of the Goldsworthy Railway future. BHP assured in the late 2010s years to examine the concerns in a feasibility study.
