Wofo Temple

The Shifangpujue Temple (十 方 普 觉 寺, Shifangpujue si) or Wofo Temple or Temple of the Sleeping Buddha (Chinese卧佛寺/卧佛寺, Pinyin Wofo Sì ) is a Buddhist temple in the Beijing Botanical Garden, around twenty kilometers from center. The temple is known for its large bronze statue of the Sleeping Buddha from 1321, which is why he is popularly called the Temple of the Sleeping Buddha.

The temple stands since 2001 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 5-205 ).
