Wojciech Żywny

Vojtěch Živný (Polish Wojciech Zywny; born May 13, 1756 in Mseno, † February 21, 1842 in Warsaw) was a Bohemian pianist, violinist, teacher and composer.

Life

Vojtěch Živný studied violin, piano, harmony and counterpoint with Jan Kuchař in his native Bohemia, at that time, he created his first compositions.

Maybe he had short-term employment in Stuttgart and two bridges. Around 1790, he moved to Poland, where he found employment at the court of Prince Kazimierz Nestor Sapieha.

In the period 1816-1822 he was in Warsaw, the first piano teacher Frédéric Chopin.

Živný composed several piano works, such as Sonatas, Polonaises, Preludes, which were not published and now regarded as lost.
