Wolf Klinz

Wolf Klinz (* September 13, 1941 in Vienna ) is an MEP for the FDP in the ALDE Group.

Wolf Klinz is chairman of the Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis (CRIS ), full member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs ( ECON ) and proxies for the Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN ). He is Vice Chairman of the Delegation for relations with Canada and a member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN).

Career

Wolf Klinz studied economics in Paris, Madrid and Berlin, 1963, he graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of World Trade ( Today's Economic University ) in Vienna, followed in 1965 where the doctorate in economics and in 1966 he also acquired an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau. From 1966-1970 he was assistant and District Sales Manager in the automotive industry in the UK, Germany and the United States. Following this employment until 1981 followed as a project manager and partner at McKinsey & Company, Inc in the United Kingdom, Germany and France. The next three years he was CEO of United Glass VEGLA Werke GmbH in Germany. From 1984 to 1990 he was a member of the Executive Committee of Landis & Gyr AG in Switzerland.

After the reunification in 1990, he joined the board of the Trust Agency in Berlin. After the dissolution of the THA, he returned to industrial enterprises of plant and process automation as a board. He was honorary president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Frankfurt and Chairman of the Association Hessischer industry and commerce as well as board member of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce Day in Berlin by the end of 2000 to 2004. 2003 and 2004 was Wolf Klinz Vice - President of Euro Chambres in Brussels. Since 2004 he has been Member of the European Parliament.

Wolf Klinz has held since 1982 member of various boards. He currently sits on the board of Zumtobel AG ( Dornbirn / Austria ), AVECO AG in Frankfurt am Main and is a member of the Group Advisory Board of IVG Immobilien AG ( Bonn / Germany ).

Awards

Wolf Klinz received the 2003 Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Medal of the University and in 2004 the honorary plaque IHK Frankfurt am Main. Furthermore, since 2005 he is a recipient of the Silver Medal of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. In 2009 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
