Wolfgang Flür

Wolfgang Fluer ( born July 17, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German musician. Flür was drummer for the electro band Kraftwerk.

Life

Wolfgang Fluer studied in Dusseldorf interior design. Since his school days, he had played as a drummer in various amateur bands, including with Michael Rother at Spirits of Sound. 1973 Flür was a permanent member of Kraftwerk and played in October 1973 at a power plant appearance in the ZDF broadcast the first aspects manually playable electric plate drums he himself developed world. This was used by him later on the power station album Highway, among others, the title Kometenmelodie 2

After the release of Electric Café 1986 Flür left power plant. In 1993 he founded Jamo, renamed in 1996 in Yamo. In 1997 Time Pie ( with Mouse on Mars musicians Andy Toma and Jan Werner) out. The singles were Guiding Ray, Hi- Matic and Musica Obscura.

In autumn 1999, published his autobiography Flür Kraftwerk - I was a robot, their distribution was shortly afterwards prohibited by his former colleagues Hütter, Schneider and shoulder by a court order. Several dispute led to an agreement in 2002: 2004 was published the revised and extended by several chapter book with a new title: I was a ROBOT - Electric drums for Kraftwerk. 2005 brought out what I Flür A Robot, exclusively on vinyl; the title reached No. 6 of the German Club Charts. In March 2005 Flür spoke at the German Dance Award for Best Indie Act the eulogy and presented the award to the group Northern Light. At the same event Flür announced publicly that the auction of his electric game rods, and his red power plant robot shirt in favor of a children 's charity.

Since 2003 Wolfgang Fluer touring with his program Yamo spectacle by Germany. It is a mixture of reading, video projections and music performances by the dancer Cindy Gunawan.
