Wolfgang Funkel

Wolfgang glitter ( born August 10, 1958 in Neuss ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Playing career

Wolfgang glitter began his football career at the home club VfR Neuss. Then he played in the Oberliga Nordrhein at Viktoria Goch, moved to second division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen promoted and played from 1984 Bayer Uerdingen and last at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern. Between 1991 and 1995 he completed Wolfgang glitter 95 Bundesliga games for Kaiserslautern in the first league. Overall, the defender has completed 305 Bundesliga games for Bayer Uerdingen and 1.FC Kaiserslautern. The brother of the more famous coach Friedhelm glitter is a two-time German national team.

Coaching career

His coaching career began as his career as a player VfR Neuss in the national league during the 1987/88 season. Then glitter was an assistant coach at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.

From June 2001 to June 2005 he was at the Bundesliga club Hansa Rostock as assistant coach of his brother Friedhelm glitter and Yuri Schlünz under contract.

Glitter was from 23 November 2005 to April 11, 2007 assistant coach Wolfgang Wolf at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern. He earned along with Wolf 1997 coaching license at the Cologne Sports University. After his release, Wolf, he served as head coach on an interim basis at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern before he has moved into second place after the signing of Kjetil Rekdal for season 2007 /08. Glitter had at FCK still have a contract until June 30, 2008, but was released on 9 February 2008, along with head coach Rekdal for the rest of the contractual term.

The trained tiler Wolfgang glitter is married and has two children.
