Wolfgang Gratzer

Wolfgang Gratzer (* 1965 in Bad Vöslau, Austria ) is an Austrian musicologist.

Life

He completed his basic humanities studies ( Musicology and Media and Communication Studies) at the Paris University of Salzburg ( 1983-1988 ). At the same University he completed his doctoral studies in 1990 with the dissertation Zur, whimsical mystique ' of Alban Berg. In 2001 he completed his habilitation at the University of Vienna in Musicology with Scripture composers comments. Contributions to a history of self-interpretation.

Since 1989 he works at the University Mozarteum Salzburg: first as an assistant at the Institute of Musical Hermeneutics (1990 to 2001), after his habilitation (2001) as a university lecturer in musicology.

In 2006 he founded together with Joachim Bruges and Thomas Hochradner the Institute of Musical Reception and interpretation of history (University Mozarteum Salzburg).

Since 1 October 2010, he has worked at the University Mozarteum Salzburg as Vice- Rector for Development and Research.

Wolfgang Gratzer is since 1990 married to Gerda Gratzer and father of three children ( Fred, Alexander and Hannah ).
