Wolfgang Haffner

Wolfgang Haffner ( born December 7, 1965 in Wunsiedel ) is a jazz drummer.

Life

He learned to play the drums and piano playing from the age of seven years. Between 1984 and 1989, Haffner was a member of the German - French jazz ensembles; later he played among others in the big band of Peter Herbolzheimer in Chaka Khan (1994-1995) and Klaus Doldinger's Passport ( 1989-2000 ). In addition, he also starred in the NDR Bigband and the hr -Bigband drums. He is also a studio and live musician who also composes and produces for other artists, including the Icelandic band Mezzoforte.

Wolfgang Haffner is in jazz and especially radio worked as a drummer and accompanied the No Angels on their swing album or played on recordings by Nils Landgren and his Funk Unit Nils Landgren with, for example, on the 2004 recordings brought out " funky abba ". In 2000, he went along with Albert Mangelsdorff, Klaus Doldinger, Manfred Schoof, Wolfgang Dauner and Eberhard Weber as Old Friends on Tour, he is with Till Bronner since 2011 on the road.

His own music is radio. In his own albums and performances, he therefore often plays together with the Swedish bassist Magnum Coltrane Price of the Nils Landgren Funk Unit -. With an acoustic jazz trio from Lars Danielsson on bass and Hubert Nuss on piano he took in 2008 on the album Shapes and guested on the Burghausen Jazz Week.

The project Heart of the Matter of 2012, he worked with Götz Alsmann, Till Bronner, Thomas Quasthoff, Sebastian Studnitzky and Sting guitarist Dominic Miller.
