Wolfgang Kreissl-Dörfler

Wolfgang Kreissl- Dörfler ( born December 1, 1950 in Augsburg ) is a German politician and since 1994 a member of the European Parliament.

He trained as a farmer and then joined his high school diploma from. After the civil service and the study of social pedagogy Wolfgang Kreissl -Dörfler went from 1979 to 1985 as a development worker for the German Development Service (DED ) to Brazil. Then from 1986 to 1987 as an expert Welthungerhilfe in Angola, where he also International election observers of the United Nations in 1992. Later he headed the EU election observers commissions in East Timor in 2001 and 2007 in Guatemala. In Germany Wolfgang Kreissl -Dörfler headed various social projects with asylum seekers and unemployed youth and was senior teacher at a rehabilitation center for people with severe physical disabilities and respiratory problems.

Kreissl -Dörfler was first since 1983 Member of Alliance 90/The Greens, since 2000 he is member of the SPD.

He is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Common Security and Defence Policy and alternates to the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament since 2009. He is a member of the Delegation for relations with the United States as well as deputy of the Delegation for relations with the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO and deputy of the Delegation for Relations with Central America.

2004 to 2009 he was a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, 2006/2007 Coordinator of the Group in the CIA's Special Committee on the allegations of the unlawful transportation and adherence of terror suspects by the CIA on European territory, 1999-2004 Vice- President of the Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America, Mexico and Cuba, 2002 Member of the temporary Committee on Foot and mouth Disease, 1999-2007 Member of the Committee on Development and Cooperation and alternates to the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, 2004-2009 Member of the Delegation of the MERCOSUR From 1997 to 2007 member of the delegation to the countries of South America and MERCOSUR, 1995 Member of the Delegation to the countries of South America, 1994-1999 Member of the Committee on External Economic Relations.
